Our Needs (Your Opportunity)

The center is a non-profit agency and donations are tax deductible. If you find it in your heart to assist us in our mission, please contact the center. We will be grateful for your support of our mission to continue to provide needed services within the community.

If you give, you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure, Pressed down, Shaken together to make room for more, And running over.
Whatever measure you use in giving- Large or small-
It will be used to measure what is given back to you.
Luke 6:38

Our facility is over 100 years old and critical areas are in need of repair. To meet some of our long-term goals at the center, we hope to reclaim the use of our gym on the 3rd floor. There are many other needs: windows, electrical upgrades, generators, handicap accessibility, bathroom renovation, etc.

We routinely accept in-kind donations of usable items for our thrift shop. We also accept non-perishable food items and during Thanksgiving, frozen turkeys. It is best to contact the center before conducting a drive, since we routinely receive large donations in some areas, while other areas have greater need.

If you would like to volunteer your time and talent at the center, we could use your help. Contact Sr. Kathy, our volunteer coordinator, and she will provide you with an application and orientation. Then she will determine where we can best use your talents. Besides the dining room, we can use people to help with transportation, data entry and other special projects.

**Our average heating bill in the winter tops $5,000+. Although the center routinely applies for grant money and corporate donations, many of these require matching funds from the community and other sources.

Food Pantry Needs

Our dining room feeds between 140 -300 people a day. This is a meal free to anyone from anywhere. We feed people of all ages a warm well balanced meal, juice and dessert.

We make available personal care items twice a year to people that qualify for our food pantry. Residency requirements apply. Baby needs are also available when we can provide them.

Our food pantry provides people with take home food once a month. We try to taylor the contents of the bag to the client. If someone has no cooking facilities or refrigeration it would make no sense to give them an uncooked chicken for example.
